Desmond Tutu

Now before i get into anything else, what does the Archbishop Desmond Tutu have to do with anything golf related?

Quite simply nothing at all! But i did card two, two’s in the competition bringing home £26.

A nice little earner for the start of the year!

The first competition round of 2018!

After a long break playing winter greens & terrible weather it was a very pleasant day, Saturday 24th February.

The golf wasn’t brilliant it has to be said, it was my first round with a new 3 wood in the bag which aims to replace my driver so I was finding quite a bit of trouble off the tee.

In among though, were some good signs for the coming season.

I had some real wonder putts with only 27 putts for 15 holes (the other 3 holes i picked up).

Chipping was good & even though i wasn’t hitting the 3 wood sweet i was getting some good distance.

27 putts / 15 holes

7/13 FIR

3/18 GIR

2 birdies

4 pars

5 bogies

4 doubles

3 NR’s

Final Position – 9th / 40 (32 pts)
